UL Listed | EU Compliant | ISO 9001 Certified | Newbury Park, California, USA

CO₂ Meidum capacity range
20.5–102.6 kg/min
Flow rate range (38–190 LPM) — the most widely used CO2 pump capacity class
MC-2
The global industry standard for bulk liquid CO2 transfer — road tanker to storage
4.8 bar
Maximum differential pressure on standard models — 150 psi (10+ bar) on MC-2Q
50 Hz
MC-2H series developed for 50 Hz countries — same flow at 1500 RPM as MC-2 at 1800 RPM
MC-1044 Series
Small bulk transfer and truck loading/unloading
The MC-1044 bridges the gap between the small capacity and medium capacity ranges. Ideal for small bulk transfer applications, truck loading and unloading, and installations where a compact medium-capacity pump is needed. Extra inlet in the cover eliminates elbows. Reversible for loading and unloading applications. Two ¼" NPT ports in the main housing for pressure gauge or hydrostatic relief valve connection.

MC-2 and MC-2H Series
The global CO2 transfer standard
The MC-2 Series is the most specified CO2 transfer pump in the world. Designed for road tanker to bulk storage transfer, the MC-2 delivers 102.2 kg/min (190 LPM) at 1800 RPM — the standard operating speed for 60 Hz markets. The MC-2H is developed specifically for 50 Hz countries — it delivers identical flow to the MC-2 at 1800 RPM when operated at 1500 RPM, making it the correct specification for South African installations on 50 Hz electrical supply.
For increased pump longevity, any non-H pump can be operated at 1500 RPM or lower. The F-type variants (MC-2F, MC-2HF) come with flanges available in threaded, butt-weld, or socket-weld versions for installations requiring flanged connections.

ATC-2 Series
Extra inlet port for pipework flexibility
The ATC-2 Series is identical to the MC-2 type pumps but includes an extra port on the inlet cover to eliminate elbows in the pipework — simplifying installation where direct inlet connections are difficult. Flanges come standard in threaded, butt-weld, or socket-weld versions. One outlet may be used with a blind flange installed on the unused outlet port — blind flange is shipped with the pump.

MC-2Q
High differential pressure pump for demanding systems
The MC-2Q is a specialist medium capacity pump for CO2 applications where the differential pressure exceeds the capability of the standard MC-2 series. The MC-2Q uses a unique helical gear design that provides differential pressures of up to 150 psi (over 10 bar) for liquids under 1 cP such as CO2 and LPG — while also delivering quieter operation than standard gear sets. The MC-2Q external dimensions and weight are the same as the MC-3 pump.

Where medium capacity Smith CO2 pumps are specified
Road tanker to bulk storage transfer
Every Smith pump ships with a patented, preassembled, pre-tested mechanical shaft seal. No lubrication is ever required. The unique three-piece seal design allows the intermediary seal ring to see only half the wear of a conventional two-piece seal. The SUPERSEAL option replaces brittle carbon graphite with a self-repairing thermoplastic intermediary seal ring that continually laps itself while the pump is in operation.
The old mechanical seal can be removed in the field in a matter of minutes. No disassembly of the pump required.
Bulk CO2 depot operations
Large CO2 storage depots transferring between vessels, filling vehicle tankers, and supplying process users from bulk storage use the medium capacity range. The reversible MC-2 handles both loading and unloading without reconfiguration.
Beverage production — large scale carbonation
Major beverage production facilities, brewery CO2 supply systems, and carbonation plants requiring continuous high-volume CO2 supply specify the MC-2H series for 50 Hz South African operations. Oil-free operation maintains CO2 purity throughout.
Industrial refrigeration and cold chain
Industrial CO2 refrigeration systems, blast freezing tunnels, and cold storage facilities requiring continuous liquid CO2 supply at medium flow rates use the MC-2H series on South African 50 Hz power supply.
High back-pressure installations — MC-2Q
Any installation where the differential pressure between source and destination exceeds 70 psi (4.8 bar) — due to significant elevation differences, long pipe runs, or system back-pressure — requires the MC-2Q helical gear pump. Contact Eyona to determine if your installation exceeds standard pump differential pressure limits.
