WHG Self Priming Pumps

Hydro-Vacuum Multistage Centrifugal Pumps

The WHG Pump series is designed for large scale industrial filling sites requiring high volumes of flow.

Multistage centrifugal pumps of WHG type are designed for use in liquid transfer systems, including liquids richer in volatile components such as: distillates, solvents, liquid and liquid-gas fuels including LPG.

Provided that it is primed in advance, the pump spontaneously draws liquid from a reservoir located below the pump axis. The pumping of two-phase media, in which vapor and gas appear next to the liquid, is made possible by The use of a special circulating-vacuum section in the pump. Construction of a special additional pre-impeller in front of the first stage of the pump causes that the NPSH surplus of WHG pumps is lower than in other pumps of this type. The design solutions used in the WHG pump cause the pump to achieve higher energy efficiency and a much wider operating range than other pumps circulators.

Advantages:

  • High energy efficiency

  • Wide operating range

  • Good anti-cavitation properties

  • Ability to self-prime the pumped medium

  • Service-friendly - relatively uncomplicated construction

  • Customizable design - various material and construction designs

  • Extended service life through the use of shaft protection sleeves and replaceable race rings

  • Adapted for operation in explosion hazardous areas

TECHNICAL DATA

  • Capacity Q: up to 165 m3/h

  • Delivery head H: up to 360 m

  • Pumped liquid temperature t: up to 80oC

  • Max. supply pressure: 10 bar

Principle of operation of the self-priming stage

  • The impeller separates gas from liquid due to centrifugal force

  • The self-priming member sucks the gas through the relief holes and pumps it into the discharge body

  • The barrier liquid is held in the centrifugal guide and the body spiral as a result:

    • The action of the centrifugal force of the rotor pushing from the inflow side

    • The pressure of the gas produced in the self-priming member, pushing from the discharge side
